What is lanolin?
Lanolin is a natural product of the wool industry. It is a substance extracted from the fleece once it has been removed from an unharmed sheep once the sheep have been shorn.

Is Lanolips animal cruelty free?
Yes! The extraction of lanolin is completely vegetarian-friendly. Lanolin is no more cruel to animals than drinking milk, using beeswax, eating honey or even wearing wool. Additionally, Lanolips is not tested on animals, it's tested on Kirsten.

Why is Lanolips so good?
The oils found in lanolin are extremely similar to those oils we secrete from within our own skin, which is why lanolin is so effective. Lanolin is truly one of nature's wonder skincare ingredients. Lanolin is an extraordinary natural emollient-style moisturiser, able to imitate and augment many of the functions of human skin lipids. This is impossible to replicate with chemicals. The moisturisation properties of lanolin itself are well documented. It can hold over 200% of its own weight of water, acting as a moisture reservoir to help maintain the hydration of the skin.

Why do you call Lanolips a lip 'ointment' an not a lip gloss or balm?
Lanolips is first and foremost a treatment product, and the fact that it also looks good is an added bonus. The words 'balm' and 'gloss' do not adequately convey the intense moisturising benefits of Lanolips.

Why does the tube say that Lanolips should be stored at 25°C?
What makes Lanolips so wonderful is the way it literally melts onto the lips and stays soft and supple on the lip surface with natural body heat. However what makes this so divine is also something you need to keep in mind. As a completely natural ingredient we don’t recommend leaving Lanolips in the midday sun on your beach towel, or in a very hot car in Summer for extended periods.

For another point of view on the effects of excessive heat on some cosmetics, you could read this little piece from the fab US website BellaSugar

My Lanolips Lip Ointment with Colour & SPF15 seems to stick to the side of
the tube. Why?

Lanolips is the purest concentration on lanolin available and is purposefully extremely rich and thick. It also has no gum additives, no preservatives, no chemical emulsifiers of any kind. In very occasional circumstances you may notice the ointment cling temporarily to the side of the tubes. This is not a fault nor does it affect performance. This actually shows how well it will stay on your lips!

Why do you have a foil seal on the tube?
At Lanolips, we want to ensure that the only person who has used the product is the person who purchased the product! Then you can be assured of product cleanliness and hygiene.
