I’m often asked questions about what is in my handbag – so here you go – the items that I have to have by my side on a daily basis.

While I was at it I asked my team the same question. It seems, we’re a Lanolips loving bunch.

KIRSTEN:

The bag: White Smythson ‘Daphne’ Bag

If I could name my handbag it would be: The ‘Problem Solver’ bag.

And inside it is:

Lanolips 101 Ointment: I use it all day, everyday on my lips and cuticles, and anything else that comes along. Its my Swiss Army Knife of skincare.

Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment: I rub it all over my hands each morning to keep them soft and moisturised, and its always ready to keep my skin soft when I hop on a plane.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage SC2: This is THE ultimate on-the-go skin perfector. Combat spots & dark circles with a tap from your fingertips.

Lanolips Lip Ointment in Mulberry: Put it on dark and you look dressed up, a dash is great for the school run. The ultimate ‘I just have naturally great coloured lips’ look

Angel by Thierry Mugler (the new EDP), baby size: Nothing perks me up more in the afternoon than a dash of this little baby on the wrists and neck. Sooooo sexy but sophisticated, but this new lighter Angel also works for day.

Honourable mentions go to: My Swiss Army Card (with a knife, scissors, tweezers, pin, torch and more!), my Handset Earphones, and my personalised Smythson notepad to help keep my thoughts in check.

SARAH:

The bag: YSL ‘CHYC’ bag

If I could name my handbag it would be: My ‘Paris’ handbag

And inside it is:

Lanolips Lip Ointments in Rhubarb and Apples: My two favourite colours. I can never decide which one I feel like wearing. Rhubarb is my perfect ‘everyday’ colour, but Apples is such a gorgeous shade I often wear it in the evening or to brighten up a simple outfit.

Laura Mercier Secret Camoflague & Pressed Mineral Powder: What did I ever do before I discovered Laura Mercier’s “flawless face”? I have been using Secret Camouflage for about seven years now and I’ve never found a better concealer. The Pressed Mineral Powder is a new addition to my handbag. I love it. My skin looks healthy without looking shiny.

Prada Wallet: This was a present from my husband when he returned from living in London for 12-months. I got him back AND a Prada Wallet – what a day.

Ray Ban Wayfarer Sunglasses: Simple and they go with every outfit. What’s not to love?

Notebooks x 2: I’m always jotting things down.

Honourable mentions go to: The ‘Paris Bag’. It reminds me of such a wonderful time I had in Paris last year, where I ate lots of macaroons, enjoyed the sunshine and shared some wonderful memories with a couple of very dear friends.

KRISTY:

Handbag Name/Style: Witchery

If I could name my handbag it would be: The Well Loved All Rounder

And inside it is:

Iphone: I mean, who can live without one? Certainly not me.

Marc Jacobs Purse: It had to be big and zip around to squeeze in a million
receipts and other bits and pieces which are yet to be filed….a birthday
present treat in New York from the Lanolips team!

Pen: Normally I am always missing one of these, so it’s exciting that it is
actually in there for once.

Annick Goutal Petite Cherie: My wedding fragrance and favourite scent of all
time. Love this pretty handbag sized butterfly bottle.

Lanolips of course!: Normally have a few colours on rotation plus can’t live
without the Intense handcream especially in the cold mornings

Honourable mentions go to:
Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage- a true desert island product, there is
nothing this stuff can’t do. There is a reason every make-up artist uses
this stuff.

Simple Eye Make-up Remover Pen- incredibly handy for those rushed eye
make-up jobs. Which are certainly NOT done in the traffic on the way to
work….

JOANNA:

Handbag Name/Style: Had it made last year when I was in Bali

If I could name my handbag it would be: The Monday-Friday

Chloe Sunglasses: A gift from a friend, reminds me of her when I wear them

Lanolips Mulberry and Dark Honey: Depending on my outfit these two colours generally work with most things and on most occasions. Lanolips Rose Balm Hand Cream, the perfect handbag size, it is great for in the car, also great on your legs if you stuck

Clarins new Gloss Prodige: My grown up go to, the long lasting colour makes it great for events or meetings

Apple iPhone 4s: 3 months in I am still struggling to understand what is so great about Suri!

Wallet Marc by Marc Jacobs: A New York Purchase

Clarins Foundation Compact: For touch ups on the run

Honourable mentions go to: iPhone – I pretty much use it for everything, except to talk to Suri

TINA:

Handbag Name/Style: No name. It’s from a leather store in Norway.

If I could name my handbag it would be: The “Fits Anything” bag.

Oroton Wallet: Vintage inspired gold wallet which is quite chunky but is still not closing due to copious amounts of receipts & cards.

Mimco Make-up bag: The perfect beauty bag to fit all my essentials.

Prada Infusion d’Iris perfume: Great fragrance, love it all year round.

ELLERY sunglasses: They instantly add a touch of glam to every outfit.

Lanolips Lip Ointment in Rose: The best everyday lippie.

Honorable mentions go to: My awesome ELLERY sunglasses & my leather handbag that I’ve had for years and always go back to.

It’s all well and good to say what a product can do but really when you have facts and proven results it’s a whole other story.

So that is what I have here for you today: the results of two independent studies I’ve had done on my two newest products Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment Body Oil & Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment.

And here they are:

Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment Body Oil

Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment

And because I’ve now got pudding on my mind, here’s a tasty treat from Nigella:

CHOCOLATE AND PEAR PUDDING

This is a cross between Pears Belle Helene and Eve’s Pudding, but the only important thing to remember is that this is easy, quick, very comforting and seems to please absolutely everyone. It’s not hard to ensure you always have what you need in the house to make this. And, for hot days when baked sponge and sauce seems inappropriate, then bear in mind that canned (or bottled) pears and chocolate sauce – with or without vanilla ice cream – make a lovely pudding on their own.

As with any baking, you really do want to have all ingredients at room temperature before you start.

Ingredients:
* 2 x 415g cans pear halves in juice
* 125g plain flour
* 25g cocoa powder
* 125g caster sugar
* 150g soft butter, plus extra for greasing
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
* 2 eggs
* 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Method:
Serves: 6-8
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/gas mark 6 and grease a 22cm square ovenproof dish with butter.
2. Drain the pears and arrange them on the base of the dish.
3. Put all the remaining ingredients in a food processor and blitz until you have a batter with a soft dropping consistency.
4. Spread the brown batter over the pears, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
5. Let stand out of the oven for 5 or 10 minutes and then cut into slabs – I cut 2 down and 2 across to make 9 slices – and serve with chocolate sauce.

Enjoy!
Kirsten x

Inspired by the recipe sharing emails that circulate every now and again, I thought I’d ask my team for their favourite restaurants and recipes and share them with you all. They’re an eclectic bunch, my team, so the recommendations come from near and far.

KRISTY:

The Meatball Shop is my latest NY discovery. I’m waiting for someone to open one in Sydney. Impatiently waiting.

And here is one of their very own recipes:

BEEF MEATBALLS
2 pounds 80% lean beef, ground
2 teaspoons salt
1⁄4 teaspoon chili flakes
1⁄2 teaspoon fennel seed, ground
1⁄2 cup breadcrumbs
1⁄4 cup parsley, chopped
1 tablespoon oregano, chopped
1 cup fresh ricotta cheese
2 eggs
2 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat the oven to 450F (232C)

1. Combine all of the ingredients except for the olive oil in a large mixing bowl and mix by hand until thoroughly incorporated.
2. Drizzle the olive oil into a large baking dish (9 x 12), making sure to evenly coat the entire surface (use your hand to help spread the oil).
3. Roll the mixture into round, golf ball-size meatballs, making sure to pack the meat firmly. (I used the large pampered chef scoop)
4. Place balls into the oiled baking dish so that all are lined up evenly in rows and are touching each of their neighbors in a grid.
5. Roast until firm and cooked through (about 20 minutes).

SARAH:

I have two favourite restaurants: Andrew Edmunds in London’s Soho and Sydney’s Sean’s Panorama. I’ve been back to both many, many times. You go to Andrew Edmunds if you want somewhere cosy and romantic, while Sean’s is all about organic food with an amazing view (Bondi Beach is across the road).

London's Andrew Edmunds

The delicious Sean's Panorama

As for a recipe, this is my latest breakfast creation that I’m loving at the moment. It’s nice, healthy and tasty to boot.

Coconut cereal
Coconut flakes/shavings
Pumpkin Seeds
Sunflower seeds
Linseeds
Almonds
Brazil nuts
Pecans
Coconut oil or butter
Stevia

I don’t have measurements. I just throw in as much as I fancy to last for a couple of days.

1. Turn oven on to 170
2. Chop up nuts so they are small and easily mixed through.
3. Mix all dry ingredients into a bowl
4. Melt the butter and/or coconut oil and then pour over the dry ingredients.
5. Add 3-4 drops of Stevia (if you don’t want to include, you don’t need to).
6. Put in the oven until brown and then mix around (essentially so that it all goes nicely brown). It should take 20-30 minutes.

To serve: I have with yoghurt and berries, or sultanas, if I can’t get berries.

JOANNA:
I would go back to New York just for this one dessert…the Magnolia Bakery Banana Pudding.

In the interim, this quick and easy dessert gets me through the days.

Easy Rocky Road
300 grams of milk cooking chocolate – can use dark if you prefer
Half a jar of smooth peanut butter
100 grams of unsalted peanuts
1 large packet of Pascal marshmallows (you can use other brands but I think Pascal taste the best)

1. Break chocolate in to small pieces and place in a large bowl, use the microwave or the top of the stove to melt it until it is runny and smooth – be careful not to over-do it as you will burn the chocolate
2. Mix in the peanut-butter and peanuts
3. Wait a few minutes and mix in the marshmallows – if you mix them in when the chocolate is too hot they will melt
4. Pour mixture into a lined slice tin and place in the fridge till set (usually takes about an hour) or if you are in a big hurry and want to really speed things up you can put it in the freezer for about 20 minutes

Tip – remove it from the fridge about 10-15 minutes before you plan to serve so that it is easy to cut

You don’t really need to measure anything and can add pretty much add whatever you want, snakes go really nicely in it too

TINA:

I’m from Europe, so travel back home every year. This is a must for people going to Copenhagen: Joe & The Juice You can find Joe the airport and in the city.

And here’s my recipe. It is a super, super easy one for scones that I was taught last weekend.

Tina’s Scones
3 cups of self raising flour
1 cup of lemonade
1 cup of fresh cream

Mix lightly, roll out, cut circles out with a glass, bake.

ENJOY!

I’d like to introduce you to: Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment Body Oil.

I’ve found all of the body & baby treatment oils available today simply coat the skin with mineral oil so they felt treated, but they weren’t actually doing much of anything at all. Which is why I began working on an ultra rich lanolin oil concentrate, the richest of oils, I knew that this magnificent ingredient would be the base of a skin treatment oil that actually penetrated and nourished the skin.

I set out to create a silky, yet rich oil that would work as a specialist skin treatment that would help with skin elasticity, stretch marks & scars. To put it more simply – to make the skin soft, dewy & healthy. I knew there were many magical and wonderful healing qualities in herbs and pine extracts, as I researched these ingredients further I found so many lovely benefits which just add to the magic within this oil. I was also influenced by the smell of the eucalyptus trees which are such a distinctive smell in the Australian bush.

The result is a Herbal Treatment Body Oil which is rich, yet light & delicate, full-bodied & beautifully absorbed – with a delightful naturally silky feel. With ingredients to reduce inflammation, eliminate odour & bacteria, nourish & protect – to treat and love the skin back to health.

It is:

• Very, very rich.
• 98% natural & naturally derived ingredients.
• Visibly improves the appearance of scars & stretchmarks.
• Is lightweight and will quickly absorb into the skin.
• Provides an ideal environment for maximum skin elasticity, skin health & repair.
• Does NOT contain any ingredients considered unsafe during pregnancy
• The magical multipurpose oil can also be added to your bath, or to other skincare products to enrich them.

LANOLIN OIL IN SKINCARE
• This is an exclusive super concentrated Ultra Pure Grade lanolin oil, the world’s finest lanolin.
• Lanolin most closely resembles your own skin lipids, more so than any other skincare ingredient.
• Lanolips™ exclusive Ultra Pure Grade lanolin holds over 200% of its own weight in water – making it a super moisturiser that nourishes the skin.
• The lanolin in Lanolips™ Lovely Lanolin products have been proven to penetrate the epidermis as far as the stratum granusolan & acts as a moisture reservoir for the skin.
• It’s semi-occlusive, providing a breathable barrier for your skin.
• For generations lanolin has been used in the field of medicine providing a luscious emollient for the skin.

PINE OIL IN SKINCARE
• Known in medicine for its excellent antiseptic, anti-viral, disinfectant, anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory properties.
• Its disinfectant & viral fighting capacities are related to its high level of phenold, acidic & powerful plant chemicals.
• Used in herbal medicine to assist swollen joint pain, arthritis, strains & sprains.
• Gives you balanced, smooth, renewed & glossy skin.
• Breaks down dead skin, acting as a natural exfoliant.
• Helps eliminate odour caused by bacteria.

EUCALYPTUS OIL IN SKINCARE
• Known in herbal medicine as one of the most powerful antiseptics in its class.
• Has a soothing effect on the skin & is known to reduce skin inflammation, irritation & rashes

How to use it:
Apply to the desired area & massage in. For dryness, apply after a shower onto towel-dried skin to lock in moisture. For best results use twice daily for 12 weeks. Do not use on broken skin. Keep in a cool place out of direct sun. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

And the best thing is…it works. Here are the results from a recent study on Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Herbal Treatment Body Oil:

I’ve been working on my new Lanolips Lovely Lanolin range for a number of years now – pretty much since I launched Lanolips. Lanolin is such an amazing ingredient, I always knew I wanted to use it in body products. Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment is the first of three products that I’m launching in the next few months.

I love, love, love this product. I created it for large areas of dry skin: think arms, legs, feet. It features three of nature’s most wonderful ingredients: Lanolin (of course), Manuka Honey and Vitamin E. So that the skin is left super nourished and moisturised.

In a nutshell Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment is:
• Is 100% natural
• Is very, very rich & thick
• Is a waterless formula
• Contains NO artificial colour or fragrance
• Combines three of nature’s greatest inventions in one product
• Is a Super Moisturiser with healing properties
• Is an intensely rich Ultra Pure Medical Grade lanolin based ointment for super dry & problem skin issues.
• Animal cruelty free
• Nature’s Wonder Moisturiser!

Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Golden Ointment is currently available in the UK at Victoria Health and will launch in Australia in February 2012.

There are two more products in my Lanolips Lovely Lanolin Collection, rest assured you’ll be hearing about them in the next couple of weeks.

And here are a couple of pictures from my Australian launch event. I wanted to create a room that had a gorgeous 50′s elegance to it, we were not only launching the new range, but also celebrating a very big year and Christmas.

I love giving gifts at Christmas and there is nothing better than a gift that gives back to those who really need it, so with that in mind I had these beautiful necklaces hanging from the Christmas tree for each of my guests to take home.

50% of the proceeds of the sale of these necklaces goes to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, where my sister worked for many years. Click here to buy one for you or your friends this Christmas.
